NOA Commends Daily Nigeria, Umar Audu Over Fake Benenois University Degrees

The National Orientation Agency, NOA, has commended the Daily Nigeria news medium and its investigative reporter, Umar Audu, for unmasking the regime of fake university degrees issued by the Ecole Superieure de Gestion et de Technologies, Cotonou, Republic of Benin.

The recommendation is contained in a letter issued to them by the agency and signed by its Director-General, Mallam Lanre Issa-Oniru, on Wednesday, January, 3, 2024.

While commending the duo for what it described as the outstanding investigative report on fake University degrees/certificates, Issa-Oniru harped on the need by the nation’s other media organizations to remember their agenda-setting responsibility which, he noted, is for development.

“We at NOA find this very laudable, especially as this reminds the nation’s media practictioners of their avowed agenda-setting roles for development rather than adversorial adversorial journalism.

"In commending your patriotic and professional efforts, we urge the media practictioners to be mindful of the their roles of fairness, objectivity, and balanced reporting to strengthen national cohesion and security,” Issa-Oniru wrote.

He expressed the hope that the efforts of the medium and its reporter will serve as a benchmark to the country’s media sector with regards to its role as a partner in nation building.
