Final Year PTI Student Electrocuted Installing Solar Panels
*As aluminium ladder touches high tension wires
Tragedy struck in, Effurun, near Warri on Thursday, October 19, when an unnamed final year student of the Petroleum Training Institute, PTI, Effurun, Delta state, was electrocuted.
He was trying to install solar panels on a storey building.
According to eye witnesses, the the student, said to be writing his final examination, got electrocuted when the aluminium ladder he used in climbing to install the solar panels got in contact with the high-tension wires linking a neighbouring commercial bank.
The witnesses added that a passerby, who noticed the incident, quickly got a long dry plank which he applied in detaching both the aluminium ladder and the unconscious student from the high tension wires.
He unconscious student was immediately rushed to a nearby private clinic for treatment. However, he was pronounced dead soon after.
He has since been laid to rest.
