A well known philanthropist and community leader, Chief Uzoma Igbonwa, has concluded plans to sponsor another set of seventy (70) indigent and handicapped students during the 2024 academic session in any tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

The list comprised of ten (10) beneficiaries from each of the seven communities in his Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The benefactor, Chief Igbonwa's good works and passion for the less privileged have gained national and international attention over the years. He was recently among the awardees approved by the President of Nigeria for conferment of the National Productivity Order of Merit (NPOM) award and honour.

The award was based on the Federal Government of Nigeria's recognition of Chief Uzoma Igbonwa's high productivity human resources upliftment/management, hard work and excellence.

The National Productivity Order of Merit Award is an award of honour and dignity instituted by Government of Nigeria to recognize hard work and excellence resulting in increased productivity in the individual organization and Nigeria at generally.

Chief Igbonwa is no stranger to hard work, community service, and philanthropy. He was appointed the Chairman, Anambra State Special Works Programme of the Federal Government of Nigeria. A position he discharged creditably, diligently and with distinction! But

Consequently he ranks among the few sought-after for community service in Nigeria today.

More so, Chief Igbonwa, as the President-General of Alor community, conceived and executed the installation of fifty-three(53) units of solar-powered Closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras to all nooks and crannies of Alor community with a very secured digital control station from where the security men view realtime the entire community via the Television monitors.

With this first ever innovation in community policing history, Alor is adjudged the most secured and safest community in Anambra State and Nigeria.

Since then, several communities in Nigeria, including the industrial hub of the state, Nnewi have emulated Igbonwa's indelible footsteps.
