Video of Anambra Man Tortured to Death Surfaces

A video, showing the moment Anambra man, simply identified as Mr Kenneth, was tortured to death, has surfaced in the social media.
The viral video made by one Harrison Gwamnishu on his X handle, of the group, Police Reform Advocate, shows the 60 yea-old man, clad only in a boxer, lying on the floor with his hands tied behind his back, while being repeatedly flogged by two individuals wielding sticks.
Accused of theft by his tormentors, the man is heard asking, “What did I do?” while his accusers keep beating him with sticks until he died.
The man is said to have been tortured to death over a property dispute in Nza Ozubulu, Ekwusigo council area of the state.
He allegedly sold a water tank in the family house to sort out certainfamily issues, an act that was said to have angered his younger brother who went ahead to order his arrest with the help of some members of the local vigilante group.
He was said to have endured the torture for hours, pleading his innocent before finally taking his last breath.
Meanwhile, the victim’s wife and children, said to be living in fears, are said to be subjects of intimidation following alleged threats of death if they continue to seek justice for the murder of their bread winner. Gwamnishi, who posted the video is heard calling on both the Anambra state governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo and the state police command to help bring the perpetrators to justice.
FreshNews reached out to the state police command spokesperson, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, for comment on the incident. However, he was yet to respond to the request at the time of filing this report.
