Army Operatives Arrest Plateau Murder Suspect In Lagos
*Say there's no hiding place for criminals.
Operatives of the Nigerian Army on Wednesday, nabbed a suspect allegedly connected to the murder of the Ardo of Panyam, Mangu council area, Plateau state, Alhaji Adamu Gabdo.
The suspect, identified as Philip Gokas, aka, Jaykimo, was picked up in Lagos where he has been hiding following the murder and weeks of the manhunt to bring him to justice.
The arrest, contained in a statement on the Army's X handle, stated that the suspect was arrested by operatives of the Tactical Team of Operation Safe Haven.
"The main mastermind behind the murder of the slain Alhaji Adamu Idris Gabdo, the Ardo of Panyam in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State has been apprehended by troops of Operation Safe Haven Tactical Team.
"The arrest of Philip Gokas also known as Jaykimo in Lagos State was following weeks of painstaking manhunt to bring the criminal to Justice."
According to the statement which described the arrest as a clear warning to criminals, Jaykimo was nabbed in the Ogba area of Lagos state, where he was found drinking at a football viewing centre.
In addition to his alleged confession of the crime, Gokas is also said to have provided useful information that may aid in the arrest of his accomplices.
