China's First Automobile Works, better known as FAW, on Wednesday, launched the J6P truck series.

The launch, which took place at the Ladi Kwali Hall, Continental Hotel, (formerly Sheraton), had the trucks displayed in all their rugged splendour before a creme de la creme of truck users from Abuja and across the northern part of the country.

The J6P series, comprising the single brand heavy and medium duty trucks, is regarded as one of the most popular high-end trucks in China with a terrain versatility that dwarfed its competitors to rap up global acceptance that resulted in a worldwide sale of well over 7 million units.

The feat, according to the company, shot its rating, so much so that it became the world's number one in sales output between 2019 and 2020.

Allen Lee, Chief FAW Representative, told guests that the J6P brand is now poised to become the new bride in the Nigerian trucking sector because of the many edges it has over its nearest competitors.

In particular, Lee said the J6P brand is set to provide the best trucking experience for Nigerians because of its unmatched qualities, including premium performance over a longer period, even in areas with inhospital roads.

He added that FAW trucks come with outstanding and second to non fuel efficiency ability that allow the them to save 2-3 liters of fuel per hundred kilomeres.

"Sometime trucks break down on the road because the roads are bad. But now we just introduced trucks for African roads, trucks that are very tough, trucks that can easily pass bad roads, deep waters, etc. Our trucks have very very strong chassis, one that guarantees very long life."

Lee emphasized that introduced the FAW series into the Nigerian market followed deliberate and extensive research steps aimed at producing vehicles of the highest quality, that are equally highly adaptable to the country’s environment.

The reason, he noted, is that FAW is very keen at helping to grow the country’s economy.

"After extensive research and preparation we introduce a series of trucks suitable for the Nigerian market. These vehicles maintain FAW's high-quality standards while focusing on adapting to Nigerian road conditions and usage patterns striving to provide the most suitable, economical, and reliable transportation solutions to Nigerian customers.

"Our goal is not merely to sell trucks but to grow with Nigeria and contribute to the socio-economic development of the local community. To this end, we are dedicated to establishing a comprehensive sales and service network to ensure that every customer receives timely and efficient support. Furthermore, we will actively participate in social responsibility initiatives to aid in the sustainable development of local communities," Lee said.

As part of the highlights of the launch, FAW also offered win win reward opportunities for guests. Via a raffle draw, many became winners of various electronic gadgets, including brand new TV sets, fans and mobile telephones.

In his remark, President of the National Association of Road Transport owners, NARTO, Alhaji Yusuf Lawal Othman, paid glowing tribute to FAW for introducing the J6P brand which he described as meeting the specification required by his organization. According Uthman, NARTO is convinced that FAW trucks meet all his group's expectations, adding members of his group believe more in practical evaluation than hear say.
