Anambra Police Vows to Hunt Down Amichi Vigilante Office Attackers

Anambra Police Command has assured it will hunt down gunmen that perpetrated the attack and burnt down Amichi Vigilante, Nnewi South council area, which also resulted in the murder of one of its operatives. 

The assurance, given by the state police commissioner, CP Aderemi Adeoye, is contained in a release made available to newsmen in Awka on Sunday by command spokesperson, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu. 

CP Adeoye who assured in the statement that efforts are in top gears to identify and bring to justice both those responsible for the gruesome attack and other criminal elements in the state, commended vigilante groups across the state for their commitment to the protection of the citizenry and their property.

He added that the state command would do all within its powers to protect them.

While praying for the repose of the soul of the killed vigilante officer, CP Adeoye directed all Tactical and Special Force units across the state to respond promptly to all distress calls from vigilante groups anytime they come under attack.

According to him, the deceased officer "...will not be in vain."
