Ize-Iyamu Drops Governorship Ambition

Frontline aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the forthcoming Edo state gubernatorial elector, Pastor Osaze Ize-Iyamu, has dropped his ambition.

Though details of his action are still not available, informed sources confirmed to FreshNews that indeed, the prominent Edo politician who also ran against incumbent governor, Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki in the 2020 election, has stepped down.

With his exit from the race, the road is now opened for other aspirants, including Hon Dennis Idahosa, a serving law maker in the House of Representatives representing Ovia South-West/Ovia North East, Rtd Gen Charles Airhiavbere and Lucky Imasuen, all from the Edo South Senatorial District.

Others are Prof Osaremen Osunbor, Rtd Col David Imuse, Edo Central, and among others, Clem Agba, from Edo North.

There has been agitation by Edo Central for the position to be negotiated in their favour, having been marginalized from the position since the advent of the country’s modern democratic journey in 1999.
