Boat Mishap: Anambra Police Recover 3 More Bodies
*Say one was washed ashore Friday morning
The Marine Unit of Anambra State Police Command says it has recovered the three remaining victims of the unfortunate boat accident in which Junior Pope and other movie casts lost their lives.
In a release made available to newsmen in Awka on Friday, the command explained that two of the bodies were recovered on Thursday while the last was washed ashore by tide, Friday morning.
"All the bodies have been deposited in hospital mortuary in Asaba while the President of the Guild of Actors and Actresses has been notified of the recovery," the statement, signed by command spokesperson, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, said.
It noted further that state police boss, CP Aderemi Adeoye, has urged all water commuters to be safety conscious and avoid behaviour that may jeorpardise their safety and that of others while on transit on water.
While commending the marine unit for their prompt action which reacting to the unfortunate incident, he assured that the command would expedite investigation into the sad accident that claimed lives of five actors.
