Attack on Police Stations: Anambra Police Intensifies Hunt for Insurgents
*Recovers Guns, high calibre ammunition, vehicle.
The Joint Security Force of the Anambra State Police Command has intensified the manhunt for insurgents responsible for the recent attacks on two police facilities in the state.
News about the manhunt, which has been extended to Obofia Forest, Aguluezuchukwu and Ogboji areas, is contained in a statement issued by command spokesperson, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu in Awka on Wednesday.
It would be recalled that the police-led Forward Operating Base, FOB, struck the insurgents camps in the aforementioned areas on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, following the deployment of the insurgents at various locations in readiness for ambush.
They were however, routed and their enclaves subsequently destroyed.
Among other items, the police recovered high calibre ammunitions, catridges, a locally fabricated rocket launcher, police uniforms and one Ford Pick-Up Truck without number plates.
