Anambra Police Burst Insurgency Gang, Nab 2 insurgents
*Recover 4 ak-47 rifles, 219 rounds of Ammunition and two exotic cars
Operatives of the Anambra state Police Command have continued their impressive war against insecurity in the state following the smashing of a deadly insurgency gang.
The incident took place while the operatives were on patrol alongside local vigilante members, in Awka-Etiti, Idemili South council area.
The joint security outfit accosted and chased the heavily armed gang allegedly on a yet-to-be unravelled mission. While the chase was on, the vehicle the gang members were driving ran into a ditch following which a shootout began.
At the end of the gunfire exchange, two members of the gang were arrested while four AK-47 rifles were recovered. The security team also revovered one Toyota Highlander SUV, with Reg. No. Lagos GGE 408 GZ.
In a related development, another team of Police operatives in the state, also working alongside other local vigilante group, intercepted a Toyota Venza Car, with Reg. No.Lagos EKY 746 JB, at Neni, Anaocha council area of the state.
However, the driver of the car fled on sighting the joint team. A search on the car unveiled 34 live catridges.
