Unknown Assailants Behead Abia Labour Party, LP, Chieftain

A Labour Party, LP, chieftain in Abia state, Maduka Zachary, alias Power Zac, has been beheaded by yet to be identified assailants.
The incident took place on Tuesday night in his country home, Uturu, Isikwuato council area of the state.
Reports say his killers also took away the victim's.
Chairman of the party in the state, Ceekay Igara, confirmed the incident, adding that he confirmed the incident from his counterpart at the council area.
”I have spoken with the Chairman of our party in the LGA and he confirmed it. He said it might not be unconnected with insecurity because the man was strong in the fight against insecurity and cultism in that region.”
Before his murder, Zachary was the party's Campaign Director in the 2023 elections in Uturu.
Besides being the home branch Chairman of Uturu Union, the deceased also acted as the Campaign Director of the member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Amobi Ogah.
Zachary, a member of the local security team, was a major force against the rising insecurity menace in Uturu.
Attempt by FreshNews to get a confirmation of the incident from the state police command was unsuccessful as the spokesperson did not respond to a WhatsApp enquiry earlier sent to his line.
