Kogi Police Arrests 17 Year-Old Boy For Burying Younger Brother Alive

Operatives of the Kogi state police command have arrested a 17 year-old teenager, Goodness Oshodi, for allegedly burying his younger brother, Friday, alive.

The incident took place in Apamisede community, near Army Barracks, Adavi council area of the state.

Goodness allegedly buried his younger brother alive following instructions by their mother to punish his younger sibling for stealing her N10,000.

Goodness however, decided to put a permanent end to his sibling's pilfering run by burying him alive. He therefore dug a hole and executed his plan.

Luck however, ran out on him as inquisitive neighbours discovered the shallow grave and rescued the victim whose face and body were bruised and swollen following the bizarre incident.

Although Goodness denied any involvement by his mother, he noted however, that his decision to bury his younger brother was based on the instruction he received from her to the extent that he punished the younger son for stealing.

The incident has been confirmed by the state police command via its spokesperson, William Aya. Aya, who said the suspect has been arrested, added that investigation has commenced to unravel circumstances surrounding the bizarre incident.

“The boy has been arrested. Investigation is ongoing to ascertain how such could have happened. The eldest Oshodi dug a pit and buried his brother alive. The victim has since been rescued by neighbours while the suspect has been taken into custody,” the PPRO said.
