Japan Earthquake: Over 100 Dead, More Than 200 Still Missing

Reuters reports that death toll from Japan's New Year earthquake has gone above the 100 mark.

The quake, measuring 7.6 magnitude, brought down critical infrastructure in the west coast region of Hokuriku, with over 23,000 homes in ruins and without power.

Disrupted roads and other logistics have also hindered the delivery of relief supplies.

Meanwhile, with 30,000 evacuees still awaiting aid, more 200 people remain unaccounted for as at Friday, even as rescue workers are still searching for survivors under collapsed building six days after.

Kyodo News Agency reports officials as confirming sixteen more deaths in Wajima city and Anamizu, bringing the total to 110
