FCT Natives Describe Jisalo's Appointment As New Dawn For Indigenes

Native of the Federal Capital Territorry has described the appointment of Hon. Zaphaniah Jisalo as the new Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs as a new dawn for the indigenous people and residents of the territory.

The natives said they can boast of having a representative in the Federal Executive Council (FEC) who would ensure that their rights and dignity are protected and not abused because of the previous marginalisation from past governments.

Elder Danjuma Tanko Dara, the Coordinator of Mandate FCT, an indigenous civil society organisation, who made this known yesterday described Jisalo as a leader who has the quality to make FCT natives and residents proud and ensure that their rights are protected.

According to Dara, although they expected that they were going to be given the portfolio of FCT minister or minister of state for FCT, they are equally grateful to President Bola Tinubu for counting an indigene worthy to be Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs for the first in the history of Nigeria's democracy.

He said that with this singular action of appointing an indigene of FCT as a substantive Minister in his cabinet, President Tinubu has proven that he is a listening leader and a father who has the best interest of all his children at heart, urging Nigerians to always pray and support the present administration to succeed in all areas of endeavour.

“So, we want to congratulate a worthy son of the soil of Gbagyi extraction, Hon. Zephaniah Bitrus Jisalo, on his meritorious and deserving appointment as Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs.

"As Gbagyi, we are excited that Jisalo broke the jinx of an FCT indigene not being nominated or appointed Minister since the return of democracy in 1999, which shows that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the interest of the people of the FCT at heart.

“We are urging him to perform as Minister more than he did when he sat on this seat as Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) for two terms and it is on record that he excelled beyond expectations in the delivery of dividends of democracy to the good people of AMAC, before going to represent AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives for eight remarkable years.

“So, we can boldly as that his nomination, screening, and eventual appointment as Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs is a well-deserved achievement that speaks volumes of his leadership skills, work ethic, and dedication to excellent duties,” he said.

The elder statesman further said that over the years that FCT residents and natives have come to know Jisalo because he has proven himself capable of tackling challenging tasks and driving positive changes for the good people of Gbagyi, AMAC, and FCT, and that they are delighted and confident that he will excel in his new role as Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs.

“So, we are looking forward to witnessing his continued success and seeing the positive impact that he will undoubtedly make in the development of Gbagyi land, AMAC, FCT, and the entire country. We join millions of Nigerians in praying for him to help President Tinubu in his revolutionary and transformational agenda and to excel beyond expectations,” he said.
