Ajagba Knocks Out Australian Heavyweight Opponent In 4th Round
Efe Ajagba

One of Nigeria's heavyweight boxing hopeful, Efe Ajagba, got a step closer to his dream on Saturday.

The Nigerian pugilist outboxed his 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, Australian nemesis, Joe Goodall, via a fourth round knockout.

The scheduled 10-round main event bout had Ajagba towering over Goodall, whom he stalked in the first round, with his opponent also trying to work his way in from the inside.

The style got the crowd angry as they booed both boxers over a seeming non-engagement in the second round and inability to find a rhythm early in the second round.

However, the Nigerian, who appeared in search of an opportunity to hammer his opponent's head, delivered some scathing jabs that his Goodall getting into a tag.

Even then, it became obvious that Ajagba had done damages on the Australian hopeful.

The Nigeria again revved up his troubling punches on his Australian counterpart in the first part of the fourth as he banged away at the seemingly helpless Goodall, until the referee ended the fight.

“They pushed me through. They made me work hard,” he said after the bout.
