Amusan Vows To Contest Missed Drugs Allegations

Nigeria’s 100m Hurdles sensation, Tobi Amusan, announced via her social media that she is ready to contest charges against her over three missed drug tests allegation. 

The AIU alleged that the WorldArecord holder missed three mandatory tests within the last 12 months and wants the internationally acclaimed record breaker to appear before a three-man arbitration board before next month’s championship, to explain why she should not be sanctioned. 

Amusan denied the charges, insisting she has been going through regular mandatory tests, including some within days of the third missed test.

“Today, the Athletics Integrity Unit, (AIU) has charged me with an alleged violation for having missed 3 tests in 12 months. I intend to fight this charge and will have my case decided by the tribunal of 3 arbitrators before the start of next month’s World Championship…”

Amusan also insists she has nothing to worry about as according to her, she is always clean.

“…I am a CLEAN ATHLETE, and I am regularly; (may be more clean than the usual) tested by the AIU. I was tested within days of my third “missed test…” Amusan wrote in ‘ihurdle_33.0inche’, her Instagram handle.
