A law make in the Anambra state House of Assembly, Hon. Mbachu Nigeria Henry, has volunteered as a teacher in his alma mater, Igwebuike Grammer School, Awka South council area of the state.

The law maker, a Labour Party, LP, member representing Awka South Constituency I, returned to the school to teach Physics.

In a letter to the commissioner of Education which left many in awe, Hon Mbachu made known his desire to volunteer as teacher which, according to him, became imperative due to his love for education and scarcity of science teachers in public secondary schools in the state.

In a letter signed by Mrs. Agbaizu Ifeoma, the state ministry of education has approved the law maker's request and instructed the principal on same.

"I am directed to refer to your request on the above subject and to convey the Honourable Commissioner's approval to volunteer as a teacher at Iguebuike Grammar School, Awka.

"Please find attached relevant documents," the approval letter read in part.

The law maker, who taught the same subject in the same school earlier in his carer, returned on June 27, 2023 as part of his oversight responsibility, during which he signaled his volunteering intention.

He resumed the assignment on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 as part of his contribution to building a future for the Children of Awka South 1 Constituency
