Premier League club, Crystal Palace on Friday, opened the exit door for its manager, Patrick Viera.

Sitting at number 12 on the table after a poor run on the elite division, Palace is three points above drop zone, with regation a constant fear. 

Club chairman, Steve Parish, who made the announcement, explained that the decision to sack the former French international came with regret, noting however, that poor recent in the last few month made the decision inevitable. 

“It is with enormous regret that this difficult decision has been made,” Parish said.

“Ultimately, results in recent months have placed us in a precarious league position and we felt a change is necessary to give us the best chance of retaining Premier League status,” he added. 

Parish noted that the process of appointing a new manager for the club is already in te work. 

“Patrick has given his all to the club, and we all thank him and his team for their service.” he said.
