Imo state Governor, Sen Hope Uzodinma, has won his reelection for a second term in one of Saturday's three off-circle governorship elections.

Results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, indicate that the sitting governor and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, defeated his opponents in a landslide.

He polled 540,308 votes, against the 71,503 garnered by his closest rival, Sen Samuel Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Labour Party, LP, candidate, Sen Athan Achonu, came a distant 64,081 votes.

However, the outcome has left both the PDP and LP candidates kicking.

In Kogi state, North Central Nigeria, Alhaji Usman Ododo, also of the APC, took an unassailable lead over his closest rival, Social Democratic Party, PDP, flag bearer, Murtala Ajaka even with results from three council areas are yet to be collated.

Results announced from 18 of the state's 21 council areas show the APC flag bearer leading the diadem race with 417, 166 from 11 LGAs, against Ajaka's 208,503 ballots from six council areas.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate, Dino Melaye, came a distant third, posting  41,925 votes without any victory in any of the council areas collated thus far. However, his relatively unknown African Democratic Congress, ADC, counterpart flag bearer, Leke Abejide, took the victory lap in one council area-Yagba East.

Thus far, INEC has released collated results from Adavi, Ajaokuta, Ankpa, Bassa, Dekina, Idah, Ijumu, Kabba-Bunu, Kogi, Mopamuro, Ofu, Okehi, Okene, Olamaboro, Omala, Yagba East and Yagba West council areas, alongside that of one ward in Ogori Magongo.

Ododo won in Adavi, Ajaokuta, Bassa, Ijumu, Kabba-Bunu, Kogi, Mopamuro, Ogori Magongo, Okehi, Okene, and Yagba West .

In the other hand, Ajaka took charge in Ankpa, Idah, Dekina, Ofu, Olamaboro and Omala.

Meanwhile, Melaye has kicked against the results announced from three council areas, insisting that Okene, Okehi and others were massively rigged.

In Bayelsa, South South Nigeria, INEC postponed collation of result, rescheduling a restart for Monday. However, incumbent governor, and PDP's candidate, Douye Diri, grabbed five of the six council areas already announced, leaving Timipre Sylva of the APC with one.

Diri took the commanding lead with results from Sagbama, Ekeremor, Yenagoa, Kolokuma/Opokuma, and Ogbia LGAs with 137,909 votes.

Sylvia's victory came from Nembe, putting his overall votes so far at a paltry 73,503.

Results from Brass and Southern Ijaw are still being awaited before collation was postponed due to what INEC referred to as "challenges in coalition of some units and wards results of the two local government areas."
