NNPCL Resolves Total Energies, PENGASSAN, NUPENG Rift

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, has resolved the lingering rift between Total Energies, the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association, PENGASAN, and the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG. 

News of the peace deal, brokered among the trio, is contained in a statement signed and released by NNPCL's Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi O. Soneye. 

As part of the terms of the peace deal reached on Sunday, both PENGASAN and NUPENG agreed to put on hold ongoing industrial action and restore, with immediate effect, the production of 275,000 barrels of crude oil per day.

All parties, the statement added, are now committed to the resolution of all other contending issues within an agreed framework, in line with the communique issued at the end of negotiation session chaired by the Executive Vice President, Upstream, NNPCL, Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan. 

The communique, signed by the leader of the feuding bodies, including MD/CEO, Total Energies, Mr. Matthieu Bouyer; President of PENGASSAN, Comrade Festus Osifo and NUPENG President, Comrade Williams Akporeha, was witnessed by NNPC Ltd, EVP Upstream, Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, and Chief Upstream Investment Officer, NNPC Upstream Investment Management Services, NUIMS, Mr Bala Wunti
