Dokpesi Is Dead
Reportedly died on Monday, May 29.
High Chief (Alegho) Raymond Dokpesi, owner of Ray Power FM and Africa Independent Television, AIT, has been reported dead.
Though FreshNews has not been able to independently verify the news, a statement purportedly released by the family and authored by his son, Raymond Dokpesi Jnr, confirmed his demise which was said to have taken place on Monday, May 29.
"It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of High Chief Raymond Aleogho Anthony Dokpesi (Ezomo of Weppa-Wanno Kingdom) who passed away on May 29th, 2023. High Chief Dokpesi was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him,"the statement read in part.
The statement noted that details of his passing will be released soon by the family.
High Chief Dokpesi is the founder of DAAR Communications, owners of Ray Power FM and African Independent Television, AIT, pioneer private radio and television stations.
An engineer by profession, High Chief Dokpesi will be remembered for being one of the country’s mediapreneurs to usher in private radio and television broadcast into Nigeria.
