Committee Shifts Job Racketeering Hearing
Hon Adamu Yusuf Gagdi

The hearing of the Adhoc Committee investigating federal ministries, departments and agencies, MDAs, Parastatals and tertiary institutions on mismanagement of personnel recruitment employment racketeering and gross mismanagement of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System, has been postponed.

Initially scheduled to continue today, Monday, August 21, 2023, the hearing has now been shifted, by 24 hours, to Tuesday, August 22.

The disclosure is contained in a statement released by the media office of Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi.

The statement noted that the shift of date is at the instance of committee chairman, Hon. Gagdi.

It added that the shift is aimed at enabling heads of agencies, parastatals, departments and other institutions to attend and or participate in the swearing in ceremony of ministers which took place at the same scheduled Monday time of the hearing.

The Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCDA, was scheduled to make a presentation before the Legislative panel today.

Other agencies are also due to make more submissions on the new date after their appearance last week.

The investigative hearings, which started on August 1, 2023, has thus far, made revelations that the Committee Chairmen, Hon. Gagdi, said will aid the lawmakers in making informed decisions in its final recommendations to the House.

Hon Gadi assured that the committee will be fair and just to every one of the over 600 agencies under its probe.
