Berlusconi Down with Leukemia, Lung Infection

Doctors say former Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi, is currently down with Leukemia and lung infection.

The 86 year-old multi-billionaire media mogul was take to the intensive care unit of Milan's San Raffaele hospital on Wednesday. 

Reuters quoting his physicians, Drs Alberto Zangrillo and Fabio Ciceri, disclosed that Berlusconi is suffering Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukaemia without specifying when the ailment was first diagnosed. They noted however, that it wasn't acute. 

"Silvio Berlusconi is currently in intensive care for the treatment of a lung infection," they said, adding that the illness was related to the cancer.

The development, which heightened concerns over his 'increasingly fragile health', prompted his children, Marina and Luigi, to rush to the hospital on Thursday.

His younger brother, Paolo, also visited him.
