President Bola Tinubu has met with the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Mr Godwin Emefiele and the Group Chief Executive Officer, of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, Mr. Mele Kyari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, after he resumed duty, on Tuesday in Aso Rock

The President took the mantle of leadership after the inauguration on Monday. The meeting was is his first official assignment as the 16th President of the country.

Reports claimed that PresidentTinubu arrived at the forecourt of the State House at about 2:30 pm, through the quarter guard gate, meant for his official entrance gate, and was received by the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, the Permanent Secretary, State House, Tijjani Umar, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila and the outgoing Director of Protocol, DOP.

Others who welcomed the President were the governor of CBN, Mr Godwin Emefiele, the GCEO of NNPCL, Mr Kyari, a member of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. James Faleke,.

It was gathered that the President went straight to his office with Emefiele, Kyari, Gbajabiamila, Faleke and others.

It was gathered that the agenda of the meeting was not made public; but reports say the meeting centered  around the removal of fuel subsidies, the fuel scarcity, the issue of unification of foreign exchange, and the recent Naira Redesign among others

President Tinubu in his inaugural speech on Monday public announcement about the removal of oil subsidy, stating that the era of oil subsidy is gone.

The announcement immediately caused panic buying and subsequent shutting down filling stations and lengthy queues.
