Outgoing Anambra Police Boss Gets a Chieftaincy Title

Retiring Anambra state Police Commissioner, Aderemi Adeoye, has been conferred with a Chieftaincy title by the monarch and people of Awuka village, Orumba South Council Area of the state.

The title, Dike-Ochioha 1 (Great War General) of Ogbunka land, was conferred on him at the palace of the traditional ruler, HRH, Igwe Dr Sir Amb J. M. Anyaocha (KSM JP), Awuka village.

CP Adeoye was traditionally pulled of the service of the Nigerian Police Force at the Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, on Saturday, after 35 years of meritorious service, which climaxed with his duty call in Anambra as the state police helms man.

Which acknowledging the approval of the title by the state government, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs commissioner, felicitated with the outgoing commissioner for serving the state well.

"I am directed to refer to your letter...dated 17th April, 2024, and to most respectfully convey Government's approval for the conferement of Chieftaincy title on CP Aderemi Adeoye, the outgoing Anambra State Commissioner of Police as DIKE-OCHIOHA 1 OF OGBUNKA KINGDOM, on 28th April, 2024, at the Igwe's palace, Awuka village, Ogbunka, Orumba South LGA.

"Please accept the assurances of the Commissioner's esteemed regards," a letter signed on behalf of the commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs by Mgbike I. I. acknowledged.
