Johannesburg Midnight Blaze Guts Building, Kills 73

At least 73 people have been declared dead in an overnight building fire in a Johannesburg's inner city building, South Africa.
This was disclosed by the country’s emergency services officials on Thursday.
Though the cause of the blaze is yet to be ascertained, sources say fire alarm went off in the building, described as 'hijacked', at about 1:30am. It is said to house migrants from other African countries.
Initial reports put the casualty figures at about 68 but with more details available, 73 deaths have been confirmed with those who are burnt or injured taken to the hospital, many of them in critical condition.
The building is “one of those hijacked, abandoned buildings in the inner city," spokesperson for Emergency Services, Johannesburg, Robert Mulaudzi, told local media
