IPOB In Lagos: Its Injustice To Arrest Igbo Leader---CUPP Spokesperson, Ugochinyere
The Coalition of Political Parties (CUPP), Spokesman, Chief Imo Ikenga Ugochinyere, on Saturday, condemned the arrest of the Eze Ndigbo of Ajao Estate in Lagos, Fredrick Nwajagu, by security agencies, adding that it's injustice to arrest the embattled leader without arresting those who stoked ethnic violence during the elections in Lagos.
Recall that Nwajagu, in a viral video on Friday, threatened to bring into Lagos,  members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to secure the properties of Igbo people in Lagos State.
According to him there's the need to bring into Lagos, the proscribed agitators for Biafra self-determination group to Lagos state, against the continuous arsonists attack on some Igbo people and their shops.
“IPOB, we will invite them. They have no job. All of the IPOB will protect all of our shops. And we have to pay them. We have to mobilise for that. We have to do that. We must have our own security so that they will stop attacking us at midnight, in the morning, and in the afternoon.
“When they discover that we have our own security before they will come, they will know that we have our own men there. I am not saying a single word to be hidden. I am not hiding my words, let my words go viral. Igbo must get their right and get a stand in Lagos State." He said on viral video.
But responding to the arrest on his Twitter handle on Saturday, Ugochinyere described the arrest as injustice adding that arresting the Igbo leader without first arresting those who instigated the pre-election violence that saw many Igbos attacked is unfair.
Ugochinyere, who won the House of Representatives seat in the just concluded presidential and parliamentary election called for the release of the Igbo leader with immediate effect.
He wrote: “ARRESTING EZE IGBO OF AJAO ESTATE LAGOS WHO IS SEEKING PROTECTION FOR HIS PEOPLE THAT IS ATTACKED WITHOUT FIRST ARRESTING THOSE WHO INSTIGATED THE PRE-ELECTION VIOLENCE THAT SAW MANY KILLED IN LAGOS IS INJUSTICE ON THE PART OF THE SECURITY AGENCIES.#ReleaseEzeIgboAjaoLagos”
