I Was Not Served Any Relocation Authority-Philip Shaibu
Edo Dep Gov, Philip Shaibu, with a police officer at the gate.

Edo state Deputy Governor, Rt Hon Philip Shaibu, has insisted that against claims that he came to Government House, Osadebey Avenue, to make trouble on Monday, he was there to resume duties in his Government House office.

According to him, no official notification authorizing his alleged relocation of his office has been transmitted to him.

Shaibu made the clarification while reacting to the refusal of security operatives to allow him into the premises.

He disclosed that while civil servants in his office were notified of the said relocation, he was notified as demanded by law.

Sources in Osadebey Avenue confirmed the development, adding that the Deputy Governor was right insisting that he be properly notified as hearsay is not a proof of official issues.

"All that the Deputy Governor is asking for is an official communication to move. The movement is not a verbal thing because the office is a creation of law.

" But he should do the right thing (referring to the governor).

"We are still expecting his letter," one of the sources volunteered to FreshNews.

FreshNews was also informed that the governor no longer wants to see his deputy face to face. The medium also learnt that the governor is also bent on frustrating his deputy by placing all imaginable subtle obstacle to frustrate him.

Investigations conducted by this medium revealed that the subtle game has long been in place. Insisting that he withdrew his court case is one of them. Although no impeachment plan has been concluded, there are moves however, to push the deputy governor into taking actions that will justify impeachment.

Deliberately withholding his relocation notice is another move calculated to make him act rashly as he did in walking out during one of the events marking the 60th anniversary of the formation of Midwest. Above all, the event at the gate was designed to embarrass him.

Interestingly, the relocation letter was delivered to him after the incident at the gate.

According to the letter, signed by Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie, Esq, the deputy governor is directed to comply with the relocation order as approved by the governor.

"I wrote to inform you that His Excellency, the Governor, has approved the relocation of your office accommodation to No. 7, Osadebey Avenue, GRA, Benin City.

"Your are therefore requested to ensure your compliance with Mr Governor's approval, please," the letter, seen by this reporter, reads.

The letter, dated 15th September, was delivered on Monday, September 18, after the deputy governor was deliberately embarrassed at the Government House gate.
