Four Dead in Kenya While Fasting to Meet Jesus

Four Kenyans were on Thursday found dead after being told to fast to meet Jesus at the end of the world.

Nearly a dozen others were rescued and taken to nearby hospitals in Kilifi county, a coastal area in the East African nation.

Six of the 11 rescued victims are reported to be emancipated and in critical conditions.

AF report, quoting police sources, says the victims, believed to be members of Pastor Paul Mackenzie’s Good News International Church, were told to fast to avoid “apocalyptic damnation”.

Police also say they will continue the search for more victims on Friday as they have reports that more members are still in the forest.

The police added that they found a mass shallow grave at Shakahola Forest in Langobaya, Malindi but could not act further as they were prevented by the pastor's hostile followers.

''The police were unable to conduct any further activity at the mass grave because of the hostile residents in the forest believed to be the suspect's followers'' part of the report read.

Though Pastor MacKenzie was at the farm when the discovery was made, he was however, not arrested, despite also being on police radar for allegedly preaching a dangerous religious doctrine which encourages his followers to starve themselves to death just so they will reach heaven faster.

He is currently out on police bail after being charged in March over the death of two children whose parents are also his followers.
