Eboigbe Remembers Clara Oshiomhole

Thirteen years after her transition, frontline aspirant in the 2024 Edo state governorship election, Victor Otaigbe Eboigbe, VOE, has remembered one of the state's former First Ladies, Mrs Clara Aiyebho Oshiomhole.

While commemorating her passing on Thursday, December 7, 2023, Eboigbe paid glowing tributes to her, describing her as courageous and virtuous.

According to the Federal Commissioner, the late First Lady left indelible marks in the heart of people in Edo state over the short period she had the opportunity to affect their lives with her Non Profit Organization, Health Foundation for Maternal and Child Care, HEFMAC.

That, he said, is one of the reasons particularly women in the state are still unable to forget her motherly presence over a decade after.

"It's thirteen years after she left us, people still remember her as if it was yesterday. That tells you a lot, that there are people one cannot forget no matter how long one has been separated from them. She is one of such people.

"Her compassion and empathy for the indigent, particularly poor rural women, remains unmatched. Her magnanimity is another.

"It is impossible to forget her courage in the midst of adversity. It is even more difficult not to remember her unflinching faith in and commitment to the services of God. They are the things I learnt from her that guide me daily," he said.

He prayed God to continue to grant her soul eternal repose, adding that her legacies will continue to speak for her in years ahead.

"It is thirteen today since she left us. But the years pass by, we can only continue to pray that God, in his infinite mercy, continues to grant her soul eternal rest," he prayed
