Eboigbe Congratulates President Tinubu, APC On Supreme Court Victory

Frontline aspirant for the 2024 Edo state governorship election under the aegis of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Victor Otaigbe Eboigbe, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC on their victory at the Supreme Court over the appeal filed against the judgement of the Presidential Election Petition Court, PEPC, by the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and his Labour Party, LP, counterpart, Peter Obi.

Eboigbe delivered the message in a statement he personally signed and released in Abuja on Thursday shortly after the apex court's unanimous verdict was delivered.

He described the verdict as an inevitable affirmation of the overwhelming endorsement President Tinubu received from Nigerians in the February 25 Presidential election.

According to him, the judgement is even more remarkable because it is a confirmation of the people's verdict, the status of the judiciary as not only as the last hope of the common man but also one of the solid foundations on which democracy stands.

"In their number, Nigerians delivered the first verdict on February 25. But as it is wont with every human affair, those who objected to it sought the opinion of our laws through the courts. Today, our judiciary, the custodian of our statutes, one of the pillars on which democracy rests, delivered the verdict of the laws. That is what makes the judgement all the more interesting and important.

"While I wish to salute the judiciary for upholding the tenets of the laws, I wholeheartedly congratulate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC for being the recipients of the landmark judgement.

"Now that the judgement has been delivered, the President can concentrate on delivering the dividends of democracy to all Nigerians in line with his Renewed Hope agenda and without any further orchestrated distraction," Eboigbe said in the statement.
