Arase Hails Egbetokun On His Confirmation As IGP
*Says he's impressed with his passion, enthusiasm and energy for work
Chairman, Police Service Commission, PSC, Dr. Solomon Arase, CFR, has congratulated Olukayode Egbetokun on his confirmation as substantive Inspector-General of the Nigerian Police.
Dr Arase, a retired Inspector-General of Police, delivered the message in a personally signed congratulatory letter, noting that he was attracted to IG Egbetokun’s humility and willingness to listen to advice and concerns on issues affecting the Force.
“This has in no small way aggregated in fostering cordiality between the Commission and the Nigeria Police Force and helped in restoring a harmonious and symbiotic relationship between these two critical institutions of Government.”
While noting that the new IG's confirmation is a testament of his unwavering commitment and high sense of responsibility in the performance of his duties since his appointment, Dr. Arase added that his leadership, integrity and vision for the Nigerian Police, particularly in his ability to de-escalate and contain insecurity challenges, earned him the trust and confidence of Nigerians
According to Dr Arase, Egbetokun's leaning on his experience in the Force, reinforced by his rich academic accomplishment, stands him in good stead in his quest of making significant impacts in the Nigeria Police Force, adding that his tour of duty will be undoubtedly phenomenal and illustrious.
He assured the new IG of his support and prayed for God's continuous wisdom and protection for him in the onerous task of ensuring adequate security provision to Nigerians.
