Anna Mae Bullock, aka, Tina Turner, is Dead

Legendary musical entertainer, Anna Mae Bullock, better known as Tina Turner, is died. 

Her death was announced by her spokesperson who said she died peacefully in Switzerland, her adopted home, after a long battle with illness. 

"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner. With her music and her boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow.

"Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music. All our heartfelt compassion goes out to her family. Tina, we will miss you dearly." a statement in her Instagram noted. 

Turner found fame in a musical career that also witness a turbulent relationship with former partner, Ike Turner. That was before she became one of the biggest solo musical acts that held the entertainment world spellbound in the 80s.

The leggy entertainer suffered serious ill health in recent years following her diagnosis of intestinal cancer in 2016. Her ill health also led to her having a kidney transplant a year later.

Since her passing was announced Wednesday, tributes have been pouring in. In a glowing tribute, one of the earliest responders, Roger Davies, her manager of three decades 30 years, described her as a unique and remarkable force. 

“Tina was a unique and remarkable force of nature with her strength, incredible energy and immense talent.

“From the first day I met her in 1980, she believed in herself completely when few others did at that time.

“It was a privilege and an honour to have been a close friend as well as her manager for more than 30 years. I will miss her deeply.”

In a statement, White House spokesperson, Karine Jean-Pierre, described the singer's death as an "incredibly sad news.

According to Pierre, Turner's death is a massive loss to the communities who loved her and the music industry.

Naomi Campbell, who commented: "REST in Peace & Power THE QUEEN , LEGEND, ICON. There will never be another. Cherish my times with you", Bernice King and Bryan Adams, a close friend, are others who paid their tributes. 

While Bernice, daughter of civil rights activist, Martin Luther King, simply wrote, “Goodnight, Queen”, Adams tweeted, "My condolences to Erwin and Tina's family.

"I'll be forever grateful for the time we spent together on tour, in the studio and as friends.

"Thank you for being the inspiration to millions of people around the world for speaking your truth and giving us the gift of your voice. It's Only Love, and that's all."

She died at 83.
