Former Governor of Rivers State, Peter Odili, on Monday , said Governor Siminalayi Fubara, since his inauguration in May, has done well stressing that he is satisfied with the decisions of the governor.
Former Governor of Rivers State, Peter Odili, on Monday, said Governor Siminalayi Fubara, since his inauguration in May, has done well stressing that he is satisfied with the decisions of the governor.
Dr Odili made the observation at the 3rd Convocation and 6th Founders’ Day ceremonies of Pamo University of Medical Sciences.
“The governor has hit the ground running. A good dance begins with the first step. Your first steps are correct.
“There is no doubt that you will dance well.”
He expressed confidence that Governor Fubara would perform well, judging by his actions so far.
He told Governor Fubara who is the Special Visitor to the institution that governance is not an easy business, but that his institution would continue to hold him in prayers to succeed well
Odili is aware of the political crisis in Rivers state caused by Nyesom Wike and Fubara, which led to the splitting of the lawmakers in the House.
Recall that 27 of State lawmakers defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)
Wike, the ex-governor of the State and a chieftain of the PDP in Rivers State is serving as a minister of the FCT, in President Tinubu's administration controlled by the APC.
President Bola Tinubu, however intervened in the crisis in an attempt to to broker peace between the two Wike and his godson.
Dr. Odili ruled the state as Governor between 1999 and 2007.
