Simon Ekpa Is Sabotaging Our Efforts In Southeast Region ---CDS Tells Reps
The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, on Tuesday, November 21, before the House of Representatives disclosed that the self-appointed Prime Minister of Biafra, Simon Ekpa, is working against the efforts of Nigerian's army from achieving peace in the troubled zone of of the Southeast.

The Defence Chief led other Service Chiefs and the Inspector General of Police to appear before the House of Representatives at the commencement of its sectoral debate.
He disclosed this when the military chiefs briefed the House of Representatives on the security situation in the country.
According to Defence Chief, the activities of Simon Ekpa, one of the leaders of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), who resides in Finland, was hampering the security in the Southeast region of the country.
Gen. Musa revealed that Ekpa was being given a protection by Finland government adding that there was a need for the Nigerian government to enter into agreement with the government of Finland and possibly invite its ambassador to Nigeria for briefing.
Gen. Musa said the military and other security agencies in the country were at the top of their duty to ensure that there was peace in the Southeast, stressing that the statements and actions of Ekpa were sabotaging such efforts.
According to him, about 140,000 terrorists have surrendered and are awaiting disarmament, adding that there was no single Nigerian territory currently being occupied by Boko Haram insurgents.
General Christopher Gwabin Musa, Nigeria’s 18th Chief of Defence Staff, was appointed by President Bola Tinubu on June 19, 2023.
Simon Ekpa is one of the current leaders of the Biafra independence movement.
He is the self-designated Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile (BRGIE) organization.
Recall that Ekpa in 2023, said the “Biafra Republic Government In-Exile is registered, approved and legal. Agent of Nigeria, take note!”
Ekpa allegedly took over the broadcast for IPOB’s Radio Biafra after the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu. He later ran into trouble with the IPOB leadership loyal to Kanu because he was accused of violating the rules of the organisation.
He was not allowed to broadcast on Radio Biafra.
