Gunmen kill Abducted ECWA Priest In Kogi After Collecting N1Million Ransom

Pastor David Musa, Priest of the Evangelical Church Winning All, ECWA, has been killed by bandits who abducted him in Kogi State.

Reports say he was killed on Tuesday night after the gunmen collected N1 million ransom from his family.

His death was noticed through the church social media platform on Wednesday morning.

The short message reads: “It is with a heavy heart but in total submission to the will of God, I write to inform you that the abductors of our brother, Pastor Musa David, have killed him after collecting ransom of one million naira last night. Let our prayers be with the family, the Church, and the DCC in this trying moment.”

He was said to have been abducted on Saturday, 11 November, during the governorship election the Kogi State. He was said to have been abducted around the Obajana area.

According to church members, Pastor David was formerly in charge of ECWA Bishara, Ajaokuta. His killing has sparked off panic among his church members and the residents of the area and the state in general.

The Lokoja/Obajana/Kabba Road has become unsafe in recent times as gunmen have taken over the road, killing, raping women, and abducting for ransom.

Recall that in September, an army Major was among 26 people that were led to the bush at Aiyegunle Igun, a few kilometres to Kabba town.

Some of them secured their freedom after one week in captivity, while the fate of others is still unknown.

On Sunday, some travellers narrowly escaped abduction when the gunmen seized the road while the results of the governorship election were been released.
