Senate Gets Tinubu's 2nd Ministerial List
Senate in plenary

The Nigerian Senate will on Wednesday receive the second ministerial list from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

This was disclosed on Wednesday by a law maker source who spoke with Punch correspondent. According to the source, the names on the list would be read at today's (Wednesday) plenary.

The report also noted that the screening of the first 28 batch will be concluded today (Wednesday) to make way for the screening of those in the second batch expected to commence on Monday.

“By Wednesday, the new set of nominees will be unveiled, so that by Monday, we will be through with their screening.

“We want to conclude with the screening before we go on our recess. We wouldn’t want a situation where we would go on recess and we would now start calling lawmakers to back to come for screening,” the source is quoted as saying.

On Monday, the senate screened 14 of the 28 nominees forwarded to the house while 9 more were screened on Tuesday.

They include Sen David Umahi (Ebonyi), Olawale Edun (Ogun State), Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna State), Ahmed Dangiwa (Katsina State), Uche Nnaji (Enugu State), Stella Okotete (Delta State), Adebayo Adelabu (Oyo State), Ekperikpe Ekpo (Cross River State) and Hannatu Musawa (Katsina State).
