Wagner leader, Yevgeny Prigozhin, said on Saturday that he has ordered his fighters to halt their march to Moscow after advancing about 200 kilometres (120 miles) towards the city.

The order to return to their bases is, according to him, to avoid bloodshed.

The order to halt the Moscow march may not be unconnected to the intervention of the Belarussian President, Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko also known as Alyaksandr Ryhoravich Lukashenka, who announced in his official Telegraph that he brokered a deal with Prigozhin to de-escalate the situation.

Lukadhenko's de-escalation announcement noted that Prigozhin agreed to put a complete halt to further movement of his fighters across Russia.

Meanwhile, Ukrainia leader, Volodomyr Zelenskyy, has described his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, as being very scared of mutiny and very likely in hiding as Prigozhin fighters march on Moscow.

Zelenskyy made the comment in his daily broadcast Saturday.

According to him, the threat is one that the Russian President created by himself.

“The man from the Kremlin is obviously very scared and is probably hiding somewhere,” Zelenskyy said in his address adding,

“Putin created this threat himself.”
