Port Harcourt Refinery Gets Over 475,000 Crude Oil Barrels from Shell

The Port Harcourt Refinery has received over 475,000 barrels of crude oil from Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria, SPDC, Limited as part of preparation for commencement of its full production take off.

The disclosure was made in a statement on Monday by spokesperson for Shell, Abimbola Essien-Nelson.

According to the statement, the supply was conducted through its Bonny Oil & Gas Terminal, BOGT.

The statement added that the move was in line with the commitment by the Federal Government to increase domestic refining capacity thereby making petroleum products more readily available in the country.

The BOGT, the statement further noted, resumed supply last week following a prolonged outage of over five years, over which the refinery underwent rehabilitation and integrity tests on its supply pipeline from Bonny Oil and Gas Terminal.
