Accenture Plc Trims its Staff Strength
Global consultancy network, Accenture announces downsize of its workforce.
In a seeming reaction to worsening global economic outlook that is draining corporate spending on IT services, international consultancy firm, Accenture Plc, has announced its decision to trim its staff strength by about 2.5 per cent, totaling about 19,000.
Though the outfit's shares values went up by about 4 per cent, it is however, downsizing it's workforce with more than half of those affected coming from its non-billable corporate functions.
With the rise in its share values, Accenture expects its annual revenue to rise by between 8 and 10 per cent in comparison with its previous projection of a 8 to 11 per cent.
Earnings per share is now projected to range between $10.84 and $11.06 as against the $11.20 and $11.52 earlier anticipated.
