Israeli Troops Encircle Gaza, Set For A Massive Ground Assault
*Cut the city off vital supplies, including power, food, water.
Hundreds of of thousands of Israeli troops have surrounded the border areas of the besieged Gaza in preparation for a massive ground offensive designed to cripple Hamas, the British Broadcasting services, BBC, reported on Wednesday.
Quoting military sources, the medium noted that the troops have mounted and waiting for order to execute the next phase of the ongoing military operation inside the Palestinian city.
According to the report, the troops are expected to mount a ground offensive on the entire Gaza strip mainly to ensure that “…Hamas won’t have any military capabilities.”
Thus far, the death toll in Israel since the crises began on Saturday is said to be in the region of 1,200, including those murdered in an Israeli village where some were allegedly murdered in their bedrooms, some of them beheaded.
Over 900 Palestinians are also reported to have been killed by Israeli airstrikes inside Gaza.
More reports say at least one missile was fired into Israel Wednesday. The missile, suspected to have been fired from a base inside Lebanon, was aimed at an Israeli military post in the border area. However, the missile reportedly struck the Arab Al-Aramshe area where Hamas launched its attacks.
Israeli military says it has carried out over 200 overnight raids into Gaza and destroyed military installations belonging to the Palestinian militant group, Hamas.
It added that it has equally taken over and regained full control of areas around the Gaza Strip, with the Israeli Navy striking central areas inside the strip, along the Mediterranean coast, even as dozens of more rockets pummel the entire coastal area from Israeli attack boats
The conflict has led to the suspension of water supply to the city with half a million of its inhabitants not having access to vital materials including fuel, power and food items
