Former Edo Speaker, Onobun, Escapes Death
*As car summersaults severally, leaving him with multiple fractures.
Ex-Edo Speaker, Rt Hon Marcus Onobun, on Wednesday, escaped death as his car crashed on his way to Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
Rt Hon Onobun, who was recently sworn-in as a member of the House of Representatives, representing Esan West/Esan Central/Igueben Federal Constituency, was said to be on his way from Benin City to Abuja when his car ran into a ditch along Ekpoma Abuja Highway and summersaulted severally.
The accident left him critically injured and with multiple fractures.
Rt Hon Onobun was on his way to Abuja, haven missed his flight in Benin City when the accident occurred. He was rushed to the hospital where doctors say he would make full recovery.
Until his election as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Rt Hon Onobun was the Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly between 2020 and early 2023.
