Delta Police Nabs Teenager Over False Penis-Disappearance Alarm
*Rescues alleged offender from being lynched by mob.
The Delta State Police Command has arrested a teenager for allegedly raising a false alarm over the disappearance of his manhood.
The development is contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the command spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, on his X account.
According to the statement, the teenager, identified as Sunday Ebube Linus, claimed that an old woman touched him inside a tricycle following which his manhood disappeared.
Thereafter, a crowd was said to have gathered and descended on the hapless woman. The mob went on to strip her naked and beat the daylight out of her.
But for the intervention of the police, the woman who, is now recuperating in an unnamed hospital, would have been lynched.
DSP assured that the command will hunt down and arrest everyone known to have participated in the mob action in order to send a deterrent message to others.
“On Sunday, 8th October, 2023 at DBS Road Asaba,...18 year-old suspect Ebube Linus raised a false alarm that an old inside a tricycle touche him and his manhood (penis) disappeared. Over 100 misguided touts gathered and mobbed...woman, stripped her naked and beating her to a stupor to the point of almost killing her. The command was contacted and the DPO GRA division Asaba led policemen to the scene, rescued the woman, and arrested the suspect who we later discovered that nothing was wrong him as his manhood is intact…” Edafe wrote on his X handle.
