Court Remands 25-Year-Old Man In Kirikiri For Raping Ateenage Girl In Lagos
A 25-year-old man, identified as Ishaya Madaki, on Tuesday, remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre, Apapa, by an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ogba Lagos State, for alleged rape of a teenager.
A 25-year-old man, identified as Ishaya Madaki, was on Tuesday, remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre, Apapa, by an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ogba Lagos State, for alleged rape of a teenager.
Police Officer, Olakunle Orebe, told the court that the defendant committed the offence between September and October 2022, and stated that the defendant forcefully had sexual intercourse with the 16-year-old girl without her consent.
According to the prosecutor, the offence committed is punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The charge read, “That you, Ishaya Madaki, between September and October 2022 around 10am at RS 139 Post Service Housing Estate, Iyana Iba, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did forcefully have sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old girl and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Magistrate Mrs E. Kubenje did not take the plea of the defendant before adjourning the case till 18 April, 2023, for mention.
