Several passengers at the local wing of the Murtala Mohammad Airport, Lagos suffered flight delay following the commencement of two-day warning industrial action notice by the aviation workers in Lagos.
It was gathered that flight schudules were adjusted on Monday, as activities were disrupted following the warning strike by the Aviation Unions.
Passengers told our correspondent that the strike affected the aviation sector on Monday, due to the disruption of activities at the airport with many passengers stranded.

According to reports, Aviation union members barrecaded the entrance to the Murtala Mohammad Airport domestic terminal, leaving many passengers stranded.
The strike was due to failure of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, and the Aviation workers to reach at compromise as their ended in a stalemate with the unions insisting on going ahead with the strike.
The Director-General, Civil Aviation, Capt. Musa Nuhu and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Aviation, Dr Emmanuel Meribole, who were at the meeting could'nt agree with the union.
The meeting was called to prevail on the unions not to embark on their planned two-day warning strike.
The unions comprise the National Union of Air Transport Employees, Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria; the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers and the Association of Nigerian Aviation Professionals.

It was gathered that the bone of contention was the planned to demolish aviation agencies’ headquarters in Lagos, and the implementation of conditions of service signed with the staff of the aviation agencies, which the union was demanding that the action ahould be stopped.
The Deputy General Secretary of ATSSSAN, Comrade Frances Akinjole, before the strike, said their demands were not met and at the night after their meeting.
It was gathered that the unions were seen singing solidarity songs as security operatives, made up of the police and military officers, were on the ground.
