The Lagos State Government on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, ordered all tankers and trailers parked at Cele Bus stop, to Tin Can Port to vacate road, immediately.

According to the state government, the decision for the tankers and trailers to vacate the road was a decisive move to address the ongoing congestion and alleviate the challenges faced by commuters along the Cele bus stop inward Tincan Port axis.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Sola Giwa, in a statement on Wednesday, explained that the directive is about the commitment of the state government to create smooth flow of traffic and reduce traffic emanating from the persistent presence of heavy-duty vehicles in the specified location.

According to Giwa, the order is aimed at enhancing the overall mobility experienced by residents and commuters in the affected areas.

Giwa said the government emphasised the importance of a clear and unobstructed road network in prioritizing the safety and well-being of the public.

He urged tanker and trailer drivers to comply with this directive or be sanctioned in line with the State Transport Reform Law.
