The National President, Admiral Murtala Nyako, in a statement on Thursday revealed that an over 11 million farmers in Nigeria have choosen Tingo Mobile’s smartphone and fintech applications, including the Nwassa platform, as part of their daily operations.
According to Nyako, the update shows a considerable stride in AFAN’s goal, established December 14, 2022, in order to provide its members with access to advanced mobile technology and financial services.
He expained that some members have started making their produce available for processing to Tingo Foods Plc, an affiliate of Tingo Mobile.
Nyako observed that the development was a modest but promising step in AFAN’s partnership with the Tingo Group.
AFAN President, Dr Farouk Rabiu Mudi, agreeing on the partnership, stated that they were encouraged by the progress made through their partnership with Tingo Mobile.
He stressed that the use of digital technology among members was growing, adding that some farmers have started to engage with Tingo Foods Plc.
Mudi added that they remained hopeful for more growth and improved utilisation of the products and services offered by Tingo and its group of companies.
According to him, the partnership goes a long way to show AFAN’s dedication to modernising agricultural practices and ensuring that its members were given the necessary tools to adapt in a fast chamging digital world.
