Senate Dumps El-Rufia Over Damaging Security Reports...Refuses To Confirm Him, Others
The Nigerian Senate on Monday, dropped the former governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir EL-Rufai, from being confirmed as it closes screening and confirmation of the nominees sent to them by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, citing a damaging security reports as reasons for his non-confirmation.

About 45 nominees out of 48 nominees sent to the Senate by Tinubu were confirmed.
The Senate President, Godswill Obot Akpabio, while giving reasons while only 45 nominees, were confirmed by the senate revealed that Nasir El-Rufai and two others have not been cleared by security checks.
“El-Rufai and two others have not been cleared by security checks.” Akpabio said.
Those nominees not confirmed by the senate were Malam Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), Stella Okotete (Delta) and Danladi Umar (Taraba).
