El-Rufai Non-Confirmation: Wike, El-Rufai In A Secret Meeting With Tinubu In Aso Rock

President Bola Tinubu, former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, and former Kaduna State governor, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, are currently in a secret meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, over non-confirmation of the former Kaduna State governor.

The two former governors are ministerial nominees. Wike was screened and confirmed on Monday, while El-Rufia was rejected by the Senate, citing security reports preferred against him.

The former governors arrived the State House separately with Wike arriving at about 1:40p.m. El-Rufai entered the presidential wing of Aso Rock at 2p.m.

Sources at the Presidential Villa hinted that efforts are being made to ensure that the Senate confirms Mallam el-Rufai.
